Petminded is a travel assistant for pet owners. Your pet friendly trip is planned in 3 simple steps:
1. Fill our travel assessment and choose a destination
2. Pay our trip planning fee ($45/day for US and $95/day for international)
3. Receive a customized trip plan within 3-5 business days
*You can request one revision for each trip plan within 7 days of receiving it.
Our travel assessment helps us learn about your travel preferences as well as your pet’s needs (such as health and prior travel experience). This helps us plan safe and memorable travel for you both.
Yes. We provide some recommendations based on your preferences but you can still choose a destination of your choice. We may have additional questions for you and there may be some limitations, we will reach out to you if necessary.
Your customized trip plan will contain recommendations and links for hotels, flights (or other transportation options), rental cars plus pet friendly dining and activities at your chosen destination.
As a bonus we also provide information on vetted pet sitters, nearby pet stores and local veterinarians in case of emergencies. And if you have any *special requests you can email us for support prior to the trip!
*Note: There may be a small fee associated with certain types of requests.
Yes. But we are offering an early access perk to our first 100 customers. Use the code PAWSIBILITIES to get a free 3-day trip plan for destinations within the United States.
We love all kinds of pets. That said, many transportation providers and hotels will have different rules for cats and other pets. So, your trip plan request may take longer to fulfil. We will email you to make sure you are aware of these timeframes.
We are happy to plan trips for more than one pet. But sometimes it can take longer to find welcoming hotels and activities. And there may be airline rules to consider. Whenever this is the case, we will email you to make sure you are aware of the longer timeframe for creating your plan.
Travel insurance for pets does exist but it is rare. If you are interested in getting guidance on how to obtain pet care coverage for travel please indicate this in your travel assessment and we will do our best to refer you to an expert.
If your dog has never traveled before, we will provide a series of guides to help you both get ready for the trip. Some of the training may require a few weeks of preparation. But it will pay off if you continue to travel with your dog in the future. In some cases, we may ask you to first take a road trip or a short flight to make sure your pet will enjoy a travel experience. If necessary, we can also refer you to a veterinarian, trainer or behaviorist to help you decide your options
It depends. Well-adjusted and healthy pets can handle flying pretty well. But occasionally flying can be stressful for seniors or anxious pets. We ask that you indicate any behavioral or health concerns within your trip planning assessment so we can make appropriate recommendations. Sometimes planning a road trip or taking the train can be a fun and scenic alternative to flights.
As animal lovers and pet parents, your pet’s safety is very important to us. If we feel that your pet’s health or wellbeing will suffer during travel, we will suggest alternatives to flying or refund your planning fee.
